Services for William Herman Barrett, age 86, of Dublin will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. W. L. Currie and Dr. Cliff Morris will officiate. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens with full Masonic services. Mr. Barrett died Friday, February 24, 2012. Mr. Barrett was born in Ocilla to the late William Herman Barrett. and the late Grace Dill Barrett. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dublin. Mr. Barrett was an Army veteran of WWII, retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base, and a past Master of Laurens Lodge # 75. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Browning Barrett; sisters, Margaret B. Stewart, Evelyn B. Purvis; and brother, Henry Allen Barrett. Survivors include his son, Bill Barrett, of Dublin; nieces and nephews, Ronal Stewart, of Macon, Janice O'Neill, of Trenton, FL, Alan Williamson, of Jacksonville, FL, Henry Purvis, of Dublin, and Karen Purvis, of Rentz. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
