William "Bill" Elbert Smith, Jr., age 58, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021.

Mr. Smith was a 1980 graduate of East Laurens High School and spent his younger years playing softball and coaching sports with his children. Bill spent his career in plumbing and electrical sales; working many years at Dublin Plumbing & Electric and with Dublin Winnelson, Inc. for the last seven years. He was a member of Dudley Baptist Church and was strong in his Christian faith. Bill was known as a man you could always count on and would expect nothing in return.

Mr. Smith enjoyed a simple life and spending his free time hunting, fishing, and gardening.  He enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife of 39 years, who he affectionately called "Mama". He was a loving husband, father, grandfather "Pops", brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Elbert Smith, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Legenia Hadden Smith of Dublin; son, Wes Smith (Heather), of Cadwell; daughters, Cassie Smith and Claire Smith, both Dublin; mother, Ellen "Irene" Smith, of Dublin; sister, Angie Martin (Roy), of Mesa, AZ; grandson, William "Bo" Smith of Cadwell, and expected grandson, Walker "Boone" Smith; granddaughters, Hadden Smith,  of Cadwell, and Kenley "Ken Ken" Smith, of Cadwell.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Dudley Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Boiling Springs Cemetery, on Boiling Springs Road between Hwy 319 and Thundering Springs Road.  Jason Locke will conduct the services.

Pallbearers will be Van Savage, Scott Locke, Earl Sapp, Randy "Spook" Spivey, Stan Sheppard, Ronnie Locke, Kenny Martin, and Bobby LeRoy.
