William Edward Pitts was born on May 27, 1942, in Clarkesville, Georgia. He married the love of his life, Janie Marie Dunaway on July 12, 1963. After he retired while working in Salem, AL; they spent many years in Panama City Beach before moving to Dublin in 2005 to be closer to his family. William was an avid problem solver and always had a project he was working on. He passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Pitts was preceded in death by his mother, Nettie Pitts; father, Marvin Pitts, and a brother, Andrew Pitts.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 59 years, Janie Marie Pitts of Dublin; daughter, Tammy Pitts Ivey (Tim) of Dublin; step-son, Verlon Scoggins (Michelle) of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, Donna Wilson (James) of Dublin; grandson, Will Radney (Erin) of Macon; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Wilson, Sutton Wilson, and Carter Scoggins; sisters, Pelonie McElrath (Earnest) of Tallulah Falls and Lucy Kinney (John) of Macon; sister-in-law, Jean Pitts of Douglasville; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved Morkie, "Gee Gee".

Services for Mr. Pitts will be held privately.
