Services for William Maynard Smith, age 77 of Rentz, will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at World Harvest Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Farris Cox will officiate. He passed away on Thursday, August 08, 2013. Mr. Smith was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of World Harvest Church and retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Mary Gladys Smith. Survivors include his wife, Linda Smith of Rentz; daughters, Melissa Smith of Rentz and Sissy (Van) Savage of Dublin; sons, William Joseph "Joe" (Debra) Smith of Augusta, Kevin (Mary) Diers of Atlanta, Spence (Samantha) Diers of North Carolina and Kenny Andrews of Kite; sister, Barbara (Jerry) Goldstein; grandchildren, Kaylyn Smith, Jacob Posey, Zoe Diers, Justin (Jessi) Savage, Ryan Savage, Trent Andrews, Russell Smith and Joy Smith. Pallbearers will be David Scott, James Darsey, Dennis McCranie, Greg Davies, Jesse Brown and Jim Dunigan. The family will receive friends on Saturday at World Harvest Church from 1:00PM until funeral hour.
