Obituary

William Fred Hall, Sr., age 94 of Dublin, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Mr. Hall was born in Alamo, Georgia on June 29, 1919 to the late James Marion Hall, Sr. and Winnie Shepherd Hall. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. and retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. He was a member of Poplar Springs South Baptist Church where he served faithfully in various positions including, deacon, church clerk and chairman of the building committee. Mr. Hall was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wylene Harden Hall; brother, James Marion Hall, Jr.; sister, Selma Hall Ferguson and an infant granddaughter. Survivors include his daughter, Dolores Hall Couey (Frank) of Warner Robins; son, William Fred Hall, Jr. (Paulette) of LaGrange; grandchildren, Hayley C. Reid (Billie) of Warner Robins, Kristin Barrett Hall of Mobile, AL, Guyton Hall Couey (Mandy) of Kathleen, Meredith Barrett Hall (Christopher) of Bergen, Norway and Elizabeth Ryan Hall of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Blake Allen, Benjamin Smith, Carolina Smith, Annabelle Smith and Skylar Grace Couey and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM on Tuesday at Poplar Springs South Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Nolon McDaniel and Rev. Lewis Miller will officiate.
