Obituary

Willie Everett Clements, age 72, of Dudley, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017. Mr. Clements was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather as well as brother, and uncle. He was a member of Buckhorn United Methodist Church. Throughout his life, he was employed in the manufacturing industry in planning, production and logistics. He also worked for a number of years in the insurance business. Mr. Clements was a member of the Elks Club, Moose Club, and president of the Middle GA Buckmasters. He was an avid sportsman and loved to host a great fish fry and invite all of his family and friends. Some of his favorite places were on his tractor, by the pond or riding on the mule with his grandkids. He was known for his love of gardening and sharing with his neighbors. He enjoyed hosting the annual Buckmasters Disabled Hunt and helping kids at the annual Dublin City Schools Fishing Derby. He will be remembered as a gentle, kind, loving and giving soul who cherished his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Mills Clements and Joe Bell Watson Clements; daughter, Sandra C. Prince; sister, Marie C. Thigpen and brothers, John Clements, James Clements, and Wendell Clements. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Brown Clements, of Dudley; daughters, Marsha Meadows (Jay), of Mt. Airy, NC and Denise P. Strickland (Danny), of Dexter; sisters, Frances C. Dominy (Gene) and Sara C. Allen (Jimmy), both of Dublin; brother, Cullen Clements (Kathy), of Warm Springs, GA; sisters-in-law, Lathy F. Clements, of Lugoff, SC, Levenia R. Clements, of Eatonton, GA, and Christine Clements, of Scott, GA; grandchildren, John Riley Williams, II, of Adrian, Morgan, Marleigh, and Mercer Meadows, all of Mt. Airy, NC, Madison W. Peterson (Tyler), of Rockledge, GA; great-grandson, Cohen Peterson, of Rockledge, GA and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday at Buckhorn United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jay Meadows and Mr. Dennis Waldrep will officiate. Pallbearers will be Allen Dominy, Darrell Dominy, Kevin Allen, Richie Allen, Brad Clements, Tod Glenn, Austin Arnett, and Cole Rozar. The family may be contacted at his home.
