Alice Wilder Scarboro Bazemore passed away on December 30, 2023 at the age of 95.
She was born on November 2, 1928 to the late Grace Padgett Scarboro and the late Roy Thomas Scarboro next to the big water tower in Millen, GA. On Christmas Eve of 1946 she married Bruce Kelly Bazemore, who preceded her in death. They were married for 66 years. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Scarboro Davis.
She was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She is remembered by many from her years of work with Dr. Mark Watkins. She was a sweet woman who loved her family and her Lord.
She leaves to celebrate her life, her three sons and their wives, Bruce Kelly Bazemore, Jr.
(Patricia McDanal), Michael Wayne Bazemore (Pamela Palmer), Gregory Dane Bazemore (Cathy Cone), eight grandchildren, Brian Bazemore, Jennifer Lee Tucker (Danny), Christian Lee (Sherri), Susannah Lee Hunt (Tony), Kelly Bazemore (Jenny), Kristi Bazemore Johnson, Christopher Bazemore (Beth), Crystal Bazemore McDonald (Andy) and 15 great grandchildren.
Services will be held in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will be private.
Special thanks to her granddaughter, Jennifer Tucker, who visited her faithfully every week.
