Patricia Ann Russell Buckins, age 81, passed away January 14,2025. Mrs. Buckins was born May 30, 1943, in Savannah, GA to the late William Bill Russell and Marie Johnston Russell.
Her family relocated to Dublin, GA where she later graduated from Dexter High School. Ann attended Marsh Business College in Atlanta, GA where she met the love of her life of 56 years, John Edward Buckins. Ann made a career of serving the public as an Administrative Assistant for John E. Buckins Tax and Accounting Service in Dublin, GA.
Ann was a member of Marie Baptist Church where she was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior. She served as a member of the choir, a Sunday School Teacher, active in WMU and as the Senior Adult Leader.
Ann spent her leisure time in service. She was an Officer & Member of the Eastern Star. Ann also served as a member of The Red Hat Society.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Buckins, and her parents, William Bill Russell and Marie Johnston Russell of Dublin, GA. She is survived by a loving son, Steve Edward Buckins of Dublin; sister, Betty Russell Thomas (Mike) of Sharpsburg, GA; brother, Gary Russell (Patty) of Dudley, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16th, at 2:00 PM in the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Marie Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hutto will officiate.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Lee Thomas, Clint Thomas, Shane Russell, Brian Rawlings and good friends of her son, Bill Adkins and Marshall Gettys.
