Anne C. Griggs, 93, of Dublin, GA, was received in Heaven on Sunday, April 10, 2022. She was the daughter of William J. Childs, DDS, and Mamie Mathews Childs, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Griggs, Sr., and two sisters, Tressie Childs Carter and Dorothy C. Wolf.
Anne was born on February 12, 1929, in Macon, Georgia. She was married to Paul E. Griggs, Sr. for 66 years until his death in 2013.
Mrs. Griggs spent her early years in Columbus, Georgia, which she always considered "home." She attended Wynnton School and Columbus High School, where she was a Cheerleader. She also attended Shorter College in Rome, Georgia. She was a member of the Dublin First Baptist Church and the Ellen Knight Sunday School class.
1961 brought the family to Dublin, Georgia where she raised her children. As her children grew older Mrs. Griggs will be remembered as an employee of F&M Bank, and also as the City Manager's secretary, where she was named the "Secretary of the Year." She was also a member of the Dublin Service league. In 1985 the family returned to Columbus during which time she worked at St. Francis Hospital Foundation and also served as a "pink lady" at St Francis Hospital. The family returned to Dublin in 2005 where they remained until her death. Although she worked in her later years, her greatest joy was being a wife and mother, and was always grateful for having had the chance to be a "stay at home mom" during her children's formative years.
She will also be remembered for her kindness, wit, humor, and the unconditional love she had for her family.
She is survived by one son, Paul E. Griggs, Jr., (Bonnie); daughters, Carol G. Bosbyshell, (John), and Claudia G. Morrow, (Randy); one sister, Claudia C. Brescia, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held privately.
