Anne Knight

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Anne Bennett Knight, age 89, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Dublin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Waldrep officiating.

Mrs. Knight was born August 10, 1932 in Dublin, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver R. Bennett, Sr. & Plonnie Elizabeth Daniel Bennett, her husband of 52 years, Roy C. Knight, a sister, Grace Bennett Johnson Griffith and a brother, Oliver R. Bennett, Jr.

Anne grew up in Dublin, Georgia and was a 1949 graduate of Dublin High School. In 1955 she married Roy and shortly thereafter they moved to South Carolina and lived for two years before returning to Laurens County and making their home in Roy’s hometown of Dexter. They were members of Dexter Baptist Church. She worked for over 48 years and began her career cashiering before moving into bookkeeping. For 42 years she was employed in insurance and mortgage loan processing and retired from Yates Insurance and Real Estate after 40 years. Mrs. Knight passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022.

She is survived by her sons and a daughter-in-law, Ben & Kelly Knight and Dan Knight; her grandchildren, Daneé and Ryan Brooks, Ellie White, Brittany and Smith Haverty and Anna Claire Knight and six great-grandchildren, Ridge Brooks, Ryder Brooks, Whitley Brooks, Halle White, Ben Haverty and Shep Haverty.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, Georgia 31021.
