Annie Louise Bryan Mullis, age 90, of Dexter, passed away on January 8, 2025.
Mrs. Mullis was born in Bleckley County on September 30, 1934, to the late David Jackson Bryan, Jr., and the late Ida Corrine Hatcher Bryan. At the age of five, her parents purchased a farm in Dexter, Georgia, where she learned the value of hard work and family values. She attended Dexter High School and then pursued a career in nursing. She was a nurse at Claxton Hospital in Dublin, GA, before moving to Winter Haven, FL where she continued her career at Winter Haven Hospital until retirement. In her spare time, she loved to sew and crochet, as well as gardening. She was a member of Eagle Lake Baptist Church before moving to Dexter, GA after her retirement in 1986. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Mullis, Sr.; sons, Raymond Mullis and James Edward Mullis, Jr.; and siblings, Howard Bryan, Bobby Bryan, Doris Brown, Ethel Dykes, and Sheila Hall.
She is survived by her children; John Mullis, Richard Mullis, Robert Mullis, Patricia Collins, and Gloria King; grandchildren: Jason Mullis, Cindy Mullis, Dustin Mullis, Marissa Mullis, Ashley Handley, Brittany Mullis, Ambra Rowland, Jessica Collins, Tara Mullis, Dillion King, and Chassity King; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Katrina Mathews and Marsha Weathersbee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Hall will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service hour on Monday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Handley, Dillion King, Dee Mullis, Heath Rowland, Cale Rowland, and Rodney Gay.
