Barbara R. Claxton

Barbara R. Claxton, age 85, of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

Mrs. Claxton was born in Laurens County to the late L.B. and Lorena Hutchins Roberts. She was a retired banker working many years at Nations Bank/Bank of America. She was a member of Grace Church and owner of GAL Claxton Enterprises. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Gilbert “Skeeby” Claxton, and siblings, Winfred Roberts and Hazel Green.

Survivors include her son, Gil Claxton, of East Dublin; daughter, Laura McVay (Joe), of Milledgeville; granddaughters, Analyn McVay, of Milledgeville and Carleigh Claxton, of Cochran, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Durden will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Billy Claxton, Jeff Roberts, Dennis Hobbs, and Tommy Martin.
