Barbara Evans

Mrs. Barbara Ann Payne Evans, age 83, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Evans was born November 3, 1938 in Dublin, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her parents, the late Leo Payne and Nell Kate Thomas Payne, her husband, David F. Evans and a son, David Ricky Evans. She was a member of Shurlington Church of the Nazarene in Macon and was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff (Cindy) Evans of Sparta and Darryl (Toni) Evans of Gray; a daughter, Teresa Evans of Macon; a sister, Leonel Zepko of Powder Springs; a sister-in-law, Gladys Payne of Dublin; six grandchildren, Chad (Patricia) Evans of Macon, Chris (Becca) Evans of Winder, Cody (Lauren) Evans of Gray, Cole Evans of Gray, Carly Evans of Gray and Scotty Baggett of Macon and six great-grandchildren, Avery, Chandler, Reid, Chase, Natalie and Tyson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 17, 2022 in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Poplar Springs North Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Ronnie Griffin and Rev. Ronnie Hinson will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
