Beneta Ruth (Perry) Butler

Beneta Ruth Perry Butler, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on April 17, 1934, in Dublin, GA, Beneta was a woman whose life was as vibrant and nurturing as the flower gardens she so lovingly tended.

Beneta was the cherished daughter of the late Algerine and Edwina Dominy Perry. Her journey through life was shared with her beloved husband, Maldolin E. Butler, Sr., who preceded her in death, as did her dear son, Elmer Butler, and her six brothers and two sisters.

Her legacy continues through her son, Eddie Butler of Wilkinson Co.; her daughter, Beneta (Al) Haywood of Blairsville, GA; her adored grandchildren, Bonnie Grizzard, Karl Butler (Mandy), Jennifer Wild, Ben Haywood (Hannah), Sam Haywood (Darby), and Allison Clark (Collin); her fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of cherished nieces and nephews. Beneta also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Dolly Butler of Salem, AL, and beloved sister-in-law, Loretta Perry (Ernest) of Dublin.

A lifelong member of Oconee Baptist Church, Beneta's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She lived her beliefs through her actions. She never met a stranger and exuded a warmth and friendliness that drew people to her. She was a prayer warrior for all her family and friends, and her faith-filled spirit was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Beneta's love for nature was evident in her passion for gardening. She had a remarkable talent for nurturing any flower, from the delicate daylilies to the most resplendent hydrangeas. She also loved feeding the birds, especially the hummingbirds, and listening to their cheerful songs always brought her great joy.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence was a source of unwavering support and affection.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Dublin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1:30 PM until the service hour. Dr. Al Haywood will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Ben Haywood, Sam Haywood, Collin Clark, Karl Butler, Chip Grizzard, and Jason Howell.
