Berniece (Hutcheson) Alligood

Berniece Alligood, age 87, of East Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Alligood was born in Treutlen County to the late Tom Walter Hutcheson and the late Laura Mae Jackson Hutcheson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was always known for her friendly smile, no matter how much pain she was enduring. Mrs. Alligood loved all people, but she cherished her children and grandchildren the most. They were the love of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Gus Alligood; son, Wayne “Gator” Hill; grandson, Derek Hill; brothers, Wilmer Hutcheson, Lester Hutcheson, W.T. Hutcheson, Talmadge Hutcheson, and Truman Hutcheson, and sister, Pauline Chitwood. 

Survivors include her children, Mike (Ellen) Hill, of East Dublin, Angie Edge, of East Dublin, Randy (Wendy) Hill, of Atlanta, Greg Bolger, of East Dublin; grandchildren, Katie Edge, Jessica Jacobson, Kyle Hill, Chrissi O’Neal, and Gabe Bolger; great-grandchildren, Brooke Seymour, Peyton O’Neal, Matthew O’Neal, Chase Ellis, Makayla Jacobson, and Aiden Jacobson; great-great grandson, Jaxon Reineke; sister, Velma Harrison, of Atlanta, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2019 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Doug Hines will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until funeral hour on Thursday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
