Betty Davidson

Betty Davidson passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Dublin, GA, at the age of 92. Born on March 30, 1933, to Baxter McAbee and Nellie Minton McAbee, Betty's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and her commitment to caring for others.

Betty's journey through life was marked by her devotion to her family, her career, and her faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Edwin Durwood Davidson, her sister, Jean Floyd, her brother, Baxter McAbee, Jr., and her parents.

Her legacy continues through her cherished family: her son, Michael Davidson and his wife, Laura; her daughter, Cathy Cothran and her husband, George; her adored grandchildren, Ryan Davidson, Josh Cothran, and Stephanie (Keegan) Donnelly; and her six great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.

For many years, Betty served as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals around the state. Her dedication to her patients was evident in every aspect of her work. Even after her retirement, she continued to embody the spirit of a caregiver, finding great joy in serving others in her community. Her unwavering commitment to helping those in need was a hallmark of her character.

Betty was an active and cherished member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she expressed it through her involvement in the church. She took great pride in her card ministry, touching the lives of many with her thoughtful words and prayers. As the leader of the prayer tree, she offered support and solace to countless individuals, demonstrating her belief in the power of prayer and community.

Her interests extended beyond her church and professional life. Betty was known for her love of Hallmark movies, which reflected the warmth and kindness that she exuded. Watching these stories of love and triumph brought her great pleasure and comfort.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M, Friday, August 1, 2025 at Jefferson Street Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Giddens officiating. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday, at the church.

Pallbearers will be Josh Cothran, Ryan Davidson, Keegan Donnelly, Sullivan Donnelly, Mark Floyd and Eddie Floyd.
