Mrs. Betty Jean Giles Collins, age 88, passed from this earthly home into her eternal home on May 26, 2022 after declining health. Mrs. Collins was born in Port Wentworth, GA.  Her family later moved to Treutlen County and has been a resident of Laurens County since 1950. She was the daughter of the late A. C. Giles and Mattie Mae Hopkins Giles.   She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 50 years, Ned Collins.  She was also preceded by her sister, Eloyce Hooks and brother, Cortez Giles.

She is survived by her loving children, Vickie C. Malone (Dennis), of Snellville, Giles Collins (Eslie), of Dublin, Robin C. Lavender (Phil), of Dublin; grandchildren, Jason Malone (Carlos Martinez), of Los Angeles,  Blake Malone (Leslie), of Milton, GA,  Niki Garnto (Brian), of Dublin, Gary Fields (Stacie), of Dublin, Jesse Lavender (Samantha), of Mableton; great grandchildren Brooks, Brody, and Lyla Kate Malone; Garrett, Gage, and Gailey Garnto; Autumn and Spencer Fields; Blaire and Collin Lavender;  sisters, Carolyn Heath, of Soperton, and Mary Ann Steele, of Callahan, FL;  brothers-in-law, Carl Hooks, of Dublin, and Russell Collins (Margaret), of Swainsboro; sister-in-law, Glenis Collins, of Dublin; and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Collins was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor after many years of service.  Her passion was horses, all things horses.  She said she had ridden horses ever since she could sit up on one.  She loved her horses and loved going on trail rides with her riding club buddies and still rode until she was 85.

Mrs. Collins was someone who would do anything for her family or friends.  She made a tremendous impact on many people and was loved by them all.  She was a member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church for more than
