Betty Jo Mullis

Betty Jo Mullis, 86, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born June 26, 1936, in Crestview, Florida to the late Edward and Louisa Helms. She was a member of the Dublin First Church of Nazarene and retired office manager with Little Ocmulgee EMC.

Her favorite pastimes were playing card games with her friends and watching birds on the porch. Betty’s family was very important to her, and she would tell you all about them whenever possible. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.   She was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Earnest “Billy” Helms.

Survivors include her sons, Eddy and Gary Mullis of Rentz; brother, Bobby Helms of Crestview, Fl; 4 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 9, 2023, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rentz City Cemetery. Rev. Grady Mimbs will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Mullis, Tony Helms, Dennis Helms, Allen Rogers, Richard Cravey, and Howard Meeks.
