Betty Jo Todd, of East Dublin, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020. She was 87 years old.
Betty Jo was born in Cadwell, Georgia to the late Fred and Bernie Lee Brown. She was a graduate of Cadwell High School.
Betty Jo was a seamstress for 30 years at Oxford Industries in Dublin, Georgia, but her greatest service was as a pastor’s wife of 60 years and the loving matriarch of her family. Her life was a ministry at various Baptist churches in the middle Georgia area. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in East Dublin.
Her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was undeniable. She considered her church family as her own. Over the past few years, she has missed attending church services. She also greatly missed shopping trips to Belk. Betty Jo was known to meet each day with hair, makeup, and stylish dress.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bernie Lee Hobbs Brown; brother, Bill David Brown; and brother, Robert Brown.
Betty Jo is survived by her husband of 66 ½ years, Rev. Billy J. Todd; son, Ricky (Susan); daughter, Tina (Tren) Hester; granddaughter, Amy Lawhorn; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Sanders, Bryceton Sanders (Chelsea), Peyton Lawhorn, and Charlie Lawhorn; and brother, Jimmy Brown (Ann), and multiple nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Calvary Baptist Church in East Dublin. Interment will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev. Don Ramsey and Rev. Carl Senn will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the church.
Mrs. Todd’s nephews will serve as pallbearers and honorary bearers.
