Billy Burney

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Burney, age 79, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 17, 2024, at Buckhorn Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Burney was born October 4, 1944, in Dublin, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late John Burney and Flora Mae Atkins Burney, his wife, Carolyn Virginia Burney, his son, David William Burney and his daughter, Kimberly Powell. He was a member of Buckhorn Methodist Church and was retired from Forstmann & Company.

He is survived by his son-in-law, Keith Powell; grandchildren, Isaiah Powell, Naomi Powell and Maria Powell; two sisters, Emma Jean Coleman and Sandy (Glenn) Coleman; a sister-in-law, Doris (Gene) Braswell and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Monday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Mike Braswell, Casey Sirmons, Jackie Mullis, Donnie Allen, Gene Braswell, Wayne Burney, Johnathan Acree, and Wayne Sirmons.
