Blanche Wagner Obituary

Blanche Dunn Wagner, age 92, of Dublin, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2020.

Graveside services for Mrs. Blanche Dunn Wagner will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. in Northview Cemetery. Reverend Jay Moore will officiate. The services will be live-streamed on the Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Facebook page.

 Mrs. Wagner was born on May 7, 1928.  Blanche was one of twelve children born to the late Grover Cleveland Dunn and Pansy Crafton Dunn.  Mrs. Wagner was a long-time member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church. She retired from the Laurens County Clerk of Courts Office as deputy clerk.  She was also a former employee of J.P. Stevens in East Dublin. She loved exercising, walking, and traveling.  Blanche was one of the original members of the Boot Scooters dance group of Dublin; performing with them was one of her favorite activities.  In her later years, Dublin Place was home, where she was surrounded by a caring community of friends and staff.

 In addition to her parents, Blanche was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Bailey, Sr.; second husband Donald G. Wagner; sister Agnes Page; eight brothers:

Basil Dunn, G.C. Dunn Jr., Rewis Dunn, Stafford Dunn, Malcolm Dunn, Fred Dunn, Vivian Dunn, and Felton Dunn; and step-daughter Janice W. Gilmore.

Mrs. Wagner is survived by her children Deborah Bailey Smith (Harold) of Dublin and Ray Bailey, Jr. (Kay) of Murfreesboro, TN.; step-daughters Ann Craig Hall (Terry) of Lucasville, OH; Denise W. Creel of Dublin, and Leigh W.Yim of Ringold: Mrs. Wagner is also survived by her grandchildren: Matt Smith (Claire) of Cumming; Brian Smith (Misty) of Dexter; Josh Smith of Dublin; Erin Cruz (Brad) of Villa Rica; Rachel Bailey and Morgan Guest, Murfreesboro, TN; Lindsey G. Hudson (Jason) of Roberta; Jenna Yim of Ringold; Ashley Creel (Ashley) of Macon; Dianna Craig and Andrew Craig of Columbus, OH; Wilson Craig (Denise) of Fort Campbell, KY; Abbey Craig of Lexington, KY; and great-grandchildren: Ava Smith and Boone Smith of Dexter; Payne Smith and Emma Smith of Cumming; Bailey Cruz of Villa Rica; Malachi Guest of Murfreesboro, TN; Gracie Creel, Nora Creel,and Hannah Schooler of Macon; Nathaniel Stiverson of Augusta; Jamie Hudson and Georgia Hudson of Roberta; Naomi Craig, Nadia Craig, and Naiya Craig of Augusta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brian Smith, Boone Smith, Josh Smith, Matt Smith, Payne Smith, and Ashley Creel.
