Bobby Coleman

Bobby Coleman passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 94. He was born in Cadwell, Georgia, on April 22, 1930, to the late Dave and Geneva Hobbs Coleman.   Things were hard during the time he came up, but Bobby always strived to do better each step of the way.  He was a farmer and for many years he worked at Dublin Plywood Mill.  He later worked at Uniroyal, where he was selected as Supervisor of the Month.  He was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand or on the tractor out in the fields. 

Bobby married the love of his life, Totsie Young Coleman, on May 29, 1952; they celebrated almost 67 years of marriage prior to her death on May 10, 2019.  They were long-time residents of Rentz and active members of Rentz Baptist Church. 

Bobby was also preceded in death by his five sisters, Willa Jean, Helen, Rose Nell, Grace, and Seebie. 

In addition to being survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins across Middle Georgia, Bobby leaves behind many good friends.

Bobby’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, February 6, at Rentz Baptist Church.  Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00.  He will be buried beside his beloved Totsie at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery immediately following the service.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Arthur, Caleb Skipper, Dave Cranford, Daniel Yarbrough, Larry Barron, and Kenny Martin.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Rentz Baptist Church Mission fund. 

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the membership of Rentz Baptist Church for the love and care they have provided to Bobby since Totsie’s death and to the many friends throughout the Rentz community who have embraced him with their love and support.
