Bobby Clyde Couey

A graveside service for Mr. Bobby Clyde Couey, age 86, will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Rock Springs Cemetery. Rev. Kevin Tanner will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the family home located at 1235 Greg Couey Road, Dublin GA 31021.

Mr. Couey was born in Glenwood, Georgia on March 5, 1937 to the late Clyde Couey and the late Annie Lee Cox Couey. He was a graduate of Lowery High School. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and received a Bachelor’s in Education and served as a teacher at Telfair and Laurens County High School. After teaching, he began working with the Georgia Department of Corrections, serving as the regional supervisor. He was the co-owner of Middle Georgia Probation and an avid farmer. He passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Couey is preceded in death by his wife, Marion Couey; son, Greg Couey; and sister, Lillian Wilkes.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister, Lorene Robinson of Dublin; sister, Josephine Hinderaker of Powder Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
