Brian Lester Farr

Mr. Brian Lester Farr, age 49, of Cadwell, passed away on August 9, 2024, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Darren Talley and Rev. Greg Lowery will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 12th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Brian graduated as valedictorian from West Laurens High School in 1993. He went on to receive a civil engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. After college, he began working with Moreland Altobelli, which later became Atlas Technical Consultants. He worked with this company for 26 years designing roadways and other transportation projects.  

Brian was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cadwell, GA, which he attended his entire life. Among family members and church family members, he was well known for his delicious homemade cheesecake, which won first place in the men’s bake-off at church and was always a favorite at family gatherings. He enjoyed playing and watching golf and going to the movies. He particularly loved watching classic movies and TV shows and listening to classic radio shows. 

Brian may have been a quiet and reserved person, but he had a unique and witty sense of humor that could always bring smiles and laughter to friends, family, and even complete strangers. 

Brian was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He had a special bond with his nephew, Josiah. They both brought great joy to one another, which helped Brian to press on even on the hardest of days. Brian loved and took great pride and joy in all of his family and was loved the same in return. 

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents; Lester, Sr. and Allene Farr and Wade and Ophelia Fordham.

He is survived by his father and mother; Lester, Jr. and Gail Farr, of Cadwell; sister; April (Darren) Talley, of Rentz; and nephew; Josiah Talley.
