Brian White Obituary

Brian Jason White, age 43, of Dublin, GA, passed away on August 12, 2024. Born on June 24, 1981, to the late Jerry Allen White and Sheila Jo Knight White, Brian's journey was one marked by resilience, compassion, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of others.

Brian is survived by his wife, Alicia White, and their two cherished children, Brody and Emelia White. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Fannie Jo Knight; uncles, Steven Knight (Delesia), Allen Knight (Nell), and Larry White; his aunts, Karen Knight White and Beverly White; and his adoring nieces and nephews, Austyn White, Katelyn Wood, and Olivia White, along with a host of cousins who will miss him dearly.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Thomas and Sandy Serensky.

In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Clyde Knight and William White.

A proud graduate of West Laurens High School, Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Middle Georgia State University. His academic journey did not end there; as he went on to achieve a Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics from The Georgia Institute of Technology. Brian completed his Orthotics & Prosthetics Residency at Hanger Clinic in Vidalia, Georgia, where he would later become a beacon of hope and inspiration to many.

Brian's career was a testament to his strength and determination. After becoming an above-the-knee amputee due to a workplace accident, he found his calling as a licensed, ABC-certified prosthetist/orthotist. His personal experience as a patient fueled his passion for the field, leading him to manage Hanger Clinic offices in Statesboro, Dublin, and Vidalia.

Brian was passionate about helping his patients achieve their fullest potential. He dedicated his life to ensuring that individuals with limb loss received the care and support they needed to lead fulfilling lives. As a certified peer visitor, Brian offered guidance and empathy to those navigating similar challenges. His advocacy work extended beyond the clinic as he became a lead advocate with the Amputee Coalition.

Brian's commitment to service saw him travel to Washington D.C. twice, where he met with lawmakers to champion Insurance Fairness for Amputees and other legislative initiatives aimed at bettering the lives of his patient population. He also volunteered at camps for children who had experienced amputation or were born with limb deficiencies, helping them to embrace their unique abilities and foster a sense of community.

Brian was a member of Springdale Baptist Church, now Wellspring Baptist Church. His impact on the world of prosthetics and orthotics, and on the lives of those he touched, will be felt for generations to come.
