Carmen Barbee “Connie”, 95, of Dublin, GA passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024. She was born in Fayette County on January 21, 1929, to the late Robert Bogan Mask and the late Elizabeth Gertrude Glass Mask.
Connie was a registered nurse, graduating from Piedmont Nursing School in 1949. She worked at Piedmont Hospital for one year before moving to the VA Hospital in Dublin. She was an active member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy Lindsey Lamb, Belle Bennett, and Betty Jo Farris; her brother, John Mask; and her sons-in-law, Dennis Bridges and Lee Harbin.
She is survived by her husband, of 73 years, Richard Clyde Barbee, Sr., of Dublin; her brother-in-law, Rufus Barbee (Mary); her sisters-in-law, Jane Mask, Jessie, Barbee, and Janie Barbee; her children; Ricky Barbee, of Dublin, Cathy Bridges, of Bogart, GA, Patti Harbin, of Long Beach, MS, and Susan Doolittle (Eric), of John’s Creek, GA; her grandchildren, Grace H. Greenleaf (Paul), Emma Kate H. Young (Justin), Georgia H. Crumrine (Garrett), Megan D. Hunter (Leah), Eli Doolittle, John Michael Doolittle (Brianna), Richie Doolittle, and Shane Doolittle; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on January 2, 2025, at Northview Cemetery in Dublin, GA with Reverend Kyle Giddens officiating. Townsend Brother Funeral Home is in charge of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jefferson Street Baptist Church, 201 N. Jefferson St., Dublin, GA 31021.
