Carole Ann Karmazinas, 80, of Dudley, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Carole was born in Decatur, Illinois, on July 1, 1941, to the late Hershal and Gladys Carson McCoy. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and as a teenager worked as a waitress at the Blue Mo Café in Blue Mound, IL. She worked in a variety of settings including attorney practices in Decatur, IL, and secretarial work for the state of Illinois. She also served as a village clerk for the Village of Hammond in Illinois. When living in Georgia, she worked at Southeast Paper, cared for dogs on weekends, and provided child care services in her home.
Carole’s early life hobbies and pastimes included gardening and interior decorating; such as wallpaper hanging, removal, and painting. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite daytime soap operas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters and their spouses: Shirley and Tom Highland, Margie and Bob Barnett, and Marilyn Jo and Bob Fair; brother and his wife, Maurice and Jean McCoy, and brother-in-law, Larry Carr.
She is survived by her children: Kurt Karmazinas (Lisa), of Arcola, IL; Leigh Ann Lee, of Dudley, GA, and Anthony “Tony” Karmazinas (Kiley), of Dexter, GA; grandchildren: Kathryn Elise Karmazinas Martin (Cody), of Dardago, Italy; Kayle Evan Karmazinas, of Plainfield, IL; Klairyn Elaine Karmazinas Pletsch (JD), of Springdale, AR; Kauryn Elizabeth Karmazinas, of Yokota AFB, Japan; Alayna Danae, Jayda Nichole, and Stephanie Leigh Perry, all of Dudley, GA; and Kohan Anthony Karmazinas and Kruz Asher Karmazinas, both of Dexter, GA; sister, Wanda Carr, of Blue Mound, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 13, 2022, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Nate Dooley will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.
