Carolyn Pheil Obituary

Carolyn Tyson Pheil, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in Dublin, Georgia. Born on May 22, 1940, in Scott, Georgia, Carolyn was a woman whose gentle spirit and loving nature touched the lives of all who knew her.

Carolyn's early life in Scott set the stage for a lifetime of warmth and dedication. She was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Lucille Foskey Tyson. Her life was further enriched by her marriage to the late George Alva Pheil, with whom she shared a profound love and partnership. Throughout her life, Carolyn experienced the loss of her cherished siblings, Rudolph "Doc" (Merle) Price, James (Hazel) Price, and Hazel (Herbert) Haywood.

Carolyn's professional life was as diverse as it was fulfilling. Alongside her husband, she operated a successful frame shop for a number of years. Her leadership skills shone brightly as she managed Sawyer's Restaurant and Br'er Rabbit, places where customers often became friends. Carolyn also worked alongside her sister at Davis House of Beauty. She ended her working career as a courier for the Dublin Courier-Herald, a role that connected her to many in her community

A member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Carolyn's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her love for cooking was renowned, and many will remember the joy of sharing a meal lovingly prepared by her hands. Carolyn's talents extended to sewing and needlepoint, through which she created beautiful pieces that reflected her meticulous attention to detail and her boundless creativity.

She is survived by her sister, Emily Hall of Dublin; nieces and nephews, Gwen Davis, Greg Davis, Andy (Robin) Davis, and Mark (Charlene) Davis, as well as her sister-in-law, Joanne Cross. Carolyn's legacy continues through the lives of her several other nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, who will carry on the values she so gracefully exemplified.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Don Hicks and Chaplain Joseph Tyler Kersey officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 14, 2025 at the church.
