Charles Beverly Cherry, age 82, of Dublin, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oak Grove City Cemetery in Telfair County.
Mr. Cherry was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the Georgia State Patrol. After retirement he worked for many years as a bailiff. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Cherry was preceded in death by his parents, Alston and Dora Cox Cherry; sons, Michael Cherry and Timothy Cherry, and a sister, Elizabeth McBride.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Cherry, of Dublin; daughters, Brenda Lynn, of Jeffersonville and Brenda Lumley (Louis), of East Dublin; son, Rodney Lynn (Connie), of Jeffersonville; grandchildren, Colby Blount (Katie), Allen Lynn (Jennifer), Kenny Lynn, Timmy Cherry, and Tiffany Daniel (Seth); great-grandchildren, Zoey Lynn, Jace Cherry, Dalton Daniel and Logan Daniel; sister, Jean Haglestein (Dick), of Albany; several nieces and nephews, and special caretaker, Lee Taylor.
