Charles E. Davidson

Charles E. Davidson, age 89, of Dexter, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Charles Davidson was born to the late Cossie and Lily Davidson on March 25, 1932. He served honorably in the United States Air Force and then in the Air National Guard. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia.

Mr. Davidson retired from the Air Force at the rank of Major.

Mr. Davidson worked with Braniff International Airlines for 20 years as a pilot. He was a faithful member of Dexter Assembly of God. He was devoted to his wife, Marilyn Davis Davidson, for 68 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clifford Davidson, and his sister, Claudia Cox.

Mr. Davidson is survived by his wife Marilyn; his daughter, Karen Davidson; his son, Ken (Andrea) Davidson; grandchildren, Rachel (Joey) Glover, Jon-David (Morgan) Ashley, Andrew (Stephanie) Davidson, and Abby (Anthony) Hall; one sister, Cathryn Davidson; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Caeden, Cameron, and Chase Glover, McKinley and Keagan Ashley, Carson Davidson, and Grayson and Jaxon Hall.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 19, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Dexter Assembly of God beginning at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Stephen Beck, Pastor Brad Nowell, and Pastor Ken Davidson will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Joey Glover, Caeden Glover, Cameron Glover, Jon-David Ashley, Andrew Davidson, and Anthony Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Davidson, Grayson Hall, Jaxon Hall, Keagan Ashley, and Chase Glover.
