Charles (Bubba) Todd

Charles “Bubba” Todd, age 87, of Cadwell, GA, passed away on March 9, 2025.

Mr. Todd was born in Dry Branch, Georgia on August 3, 1938. He was affectionately known as Bubba to his friends and family. Before retirement, Mr. Todd was the owner and operator of the largest non-union crane company in Florida, Todd’s Crane Service. He had a big love for heavy equipment and even after retirement, he wasn’t really retired. You could always find him working and that trait eventually led to him starting several businesses after his so called retirement. Mr. Todd was also a Mason, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Right. Bubba was a family man who cherished the simple things in life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Todd was preceded in death by his father, John Todd; mother, Ruth Jones Hawkins; his wife, Bessie Williams Todd; son, Charles “Buddy” Todd; daughter, Frances “Peanut” Stoothoff, and several brothers.

He is survived by his eldest daughter, Sarah Todd Wright of Woodstock, GA; youngest son, John “Alan” Todd of Cadwell; grandchildren: Jonathan “Bobo” Wright of Locus Grove, GA; Bradley Stoothoff of Covington, GA; John “AJ” Todd Jr.; Kalab Todd of Cadwell, GA; Cody Stoothoff of Newborn, GA; Jessie Todd of Cadwell, GA, and Mikey Todd of Cadwell, GA; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Emmett Todd of North Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service honoring Mr. Todd’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Alan Heath will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 14th, at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery in Dallas, GA.
