Funeral services for Christopher Steven Brooks, age 52, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday June 11, 2025 at the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alan Heath officiating. Burial will be private.
Chris was born March 26, 1973 in Dublin, GA; he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard & Mable Knight Pittman and Isaac Leighton & Lola Rowe Brooks; as well as Billy Smith; his aunt, Debra Pope, and many cherished cousins. Chris passed away June 2, 2025.
A graduate of West Laurens High School, Chris was known for his quick wit and readiness to lend a helping hand. His work ethic was evident in his career, having contributed his skills and dedication to Flexsteel, Martin Transport, and Farmers Furniture.
Chris will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. Whether he was out on the water or simply enjoying the serenity of the great outdoors, he was in his element. His love for his family and friends was as boundless as the landscapes he explored. Chris's pets, too, were a source of joy and companionship.
Never one to shy away from meeting new people, Chris never met a stranger. His ability to connect with others and brighten their day was one of his most remarkable traits. A jokester at heart, Chris believed in the power of laughter and used his sense of humor to bring smiles to those around him.
Music, cooking, and Nascar were among his many passions. Chris's culinary skills were a delight to his family and friends, who were often treated to his delicious creations. His love for the Georgia Bulldogs was unmatched. Game day & race day were always a special occasion.
Chris is survived by his wife, Scarlet Brooks; mother, Brenda Pittman Smith; father, Isaac (Pattie) Brooks, Jr. His life was enriched by the love and companionship of his sister, Laura (David) Walsh, and his love for his nieces, Cameron (Sam) Walsh Hartness and Olivia Walsh; and his aunts and uncles, Gail Pittman Mullis, Frank (Vicki) Pittman, Randall (Connie) Brooks, and Beverly (Travis) Horne; his mother-in-law, Sharron Edwards; many cousins and friends and his best friend, Richie (Ellen) Brown
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Richie Brown, Rick Parlatto, Michael Pittman, David Walsh, Sam Hartness and Archie Kharischirashvili.
