Clarence Willie Kennedy, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of 83, in Cadwell, GA, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 17, 1941, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Willie and Lila Mae Gay Kennedy, Clarence's journey began in the warmth of a large family, where he was one of several siblings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas, Valda, H.J., and Floyd Kennedy, and his sister, Lavene Patisaul.
Clarence's legacy continues through his beloved wife of 47 years, Ezelle Kennedy of Cadwell, and his adoring children: Jackie K. Morris, Edward Shirey, Tammy Rincon (Javier), Clarisa Kennedy, Willie Kennedy, Anthony Shirey (Christy), Jamie Lewis Kennedy (Samantha), and Mark Lucas Kennedy (Donna). He also held a special place in his heart for his "special daughters," Laura McDaniel (Vincent) and April Miller (Greg).
The light of Clarence's life shone brightly in his 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. His sisters, Bertie Ellison and Wanell McCant, along with several nieces and nephews, also survive him.
Clarence dedicated many years of service to the Bassett Furniture Company before retiring, a period during which he not only honed his professional skills but also formed lasting friendships and associations. His commitment to his community was further exemplified by his attendance at the Pinetuckey Church of God of Prophecy, where he nurtured his faith and fellowship. Those who knew Clarence will also fondly remember his love for working on old cars.
His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he especially cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren and his fur babies. There was truly never a dull moment when Clarence was in the room. His sense of humor was infectious, and his kindness touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
