Claude Richard Hounshell

Claude Richard Hounshell, age 77, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Hounshell was born in Fleming, Kentucky, of September 29, 1943, to the late Claude E. and Susan Mary Hounshell. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and after service worked many dedicated years with FEMA and Homeland Security.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Register.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Hounshell, of Huntsville, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Steve Funderburk (Steve), and their children, Josh and Casey Funderburk, all of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Diana Miller, and her children, Lauren and Kate Miller, all of Orlando, FL; son, Richie Hounshell, of Poquoson, VA; step-daughter and her husband, Missy and Don Franciso, of Poquoson, VA, and grandson, Chase Hounshell, of Norfolk, VA; brother Neil Hounshell and sisters Brenda Robinson and Gail Gehring of Chester, Va.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, in Dublin, GA, with burial to follow in the Rentz City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service hour at the funeral home.
