Corey Bruce Jones

Corey Bruce Jones, of Rentz, GA, passed away on May 27, 2026, at the age of 26. He was born on June 1, 1999, in Dublin, Georgia, and lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and a spirit of adventure that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Corey will be remembered as a funny, loving, and adventurous young man whose presence brought light and laughter into the lives of his family and friends. Whether he was sharing a joke, spending time with loved ones, or enjoying the simple pleasures of life, Corey carried himself with a kindness and energy that made him unforgettable.

He was employed as a Pharmacy Tech at Gay Co Healthcare. Outside of work, Corey enjoyed the things that made life meaningful to him. He was an avid video gamer and found joy in the excitement and challenge that gaming brought. He also loved riding motorcycles, embracing the freedom and adventure of the open road. Above all, Corey cherished time spent with friends and family, and those moments were among the most important in his life.

Corey is survived by his wife, Kaitlin Jones of Rentz; his father, Anthony Bruce Jones and Marie; his mother, Angeline Smith McCommons and Mark of Bonaire; his sister, Jodi Doerr and Richard of Rentz; his niece, Saydee Doerr of Rentz; and his grandmother, Shirley Jones of Dudley, and his furry companions, Holly and Bruno. He is also remembered by many extended family members and friends who will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brenda Elaine Smith, Jody Smith, and James Jones.

Though his time on earth was far too brief, Corey’s life was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connections. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the joy he brought to others.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, May 29th, at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

A funeral service celebrating Corey’s life will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Cadwell Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Gay Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Treadwell, Richard Doerr, Eric Doerr, Steven Nobles, Levi Hill, and Reggie Warren.
