Mr. Curtis Hansel Brinson, age 80, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Brinson was born September 15, 1941, in Treutlen County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Brinson and Adel Cox Brinson; grandson, Mathew Spires; great great granddaughter, McKenna Lakey, and son in law, Willie Spires.
He was a member of Central Drive Baptist Church and was the retired owner/operator of Brinson Diesel. Mr. Brinson was the owner of the business from 1985 until 2013. He loved fishing and camping, especially with his grandchildren and was affectionately known by his family as “Pa”, by his work family as “Brinson”, and by many as “The Mullet King”. He would love preparing and enjoyed the anticipation for a trip to the river or beach. His family meant everything to him.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Brinson; five children, Virgil Brinson (Kathy) of Brewton, Kaye Brinson Spires (Claude Robertson) of Brooklet, Curtis Brinson (Lisa) of Rentz, Patrick Brinson (Jennifer) of Dublin, and Tammy Young (Monty) of East Dublin; grandchildren, Chris Brinson (Jennifer), Kristy Smith (Brock), Carmen Roland (Clay), Hannah Flowers (Coty), Aaron Spires, Hunter Lakey (Harley), Elizabeth Lakey (Canden), Garrett Young (Anzlie), Peyton Brinson, Averi Brinson, Dylon Fleming, Sydney Fleming, Logan Fleming, Carley Brinson, Cassie Brinson, Joe Spires (Cynthia), Rebekah Spires, and Willie Spires (Logan); sisters, Vonnie Garnto of AL, and Connie Garnto of Pooler; brothers, David Brinson (Faye) of Dublin, and Ted Brinson (Gina) of Dublin; 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 4, 2021 at Central Drive Baptist Church with Rev. W.L. Currie officiating. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Mr. Brinson: Chris Brinson, Brock Smith, Clay Roland, Coty Flowers, Aaron Spires, Hunter Lakey, Garrett Young, Peyton Brinson, Donavon Cooper, Dylon Fleming, Logan Fleming, Skipper Murphy, Willie Spires, Joe Spires, Jacob Smith and Cohan Flowers.
