Danny Mikeal Davis, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in his hometown of Dublin, Georgia.
Born on November 19, 1948 in Dublin, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late James Alvin Davis and Aleene Lord Davis, his brother Jimmy D. Davis, a nephew Dennis Davis, a niece, Karen Davidson and a brother-in-law, Charles E. Davidson.
Danny's educational journey led him to Southeastern Bible College, where he not only excelled in his studies but also found a lifelong passion for gospel music. He sang with The Southeasterners during his college years, a time that he would always hold dear. This love of music continued throughout his life, as he often sang with his family, The Davis Family, creating harmonies that would resonate at countless gatherings.
Professionally, Danny retired as a Plant Manager from Georgia Correctional Industries at Hawkinsville State Prison, a position that highlighted his leadership skills and his ability to inspire those around him. Before this, he worked for Congressman J. Roy Rowland and for Mutual PCA, experiences that broadened his understanding of the community he served so faithfully. He was a member of Dexter Assembly of God.
Danny's interests went beyond his work and music; he was an adventurous soul who treasured family reunions and the Southeastern Bible College reunions, which allowed him to reconnect with long-time friends and share in the joy of fellowship. His fun-loving nature was legendary; a jokester at heart, Danny delighted in good-natured pranks that would often leave friends and family in stitches.
He is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Davis of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; his loving sisters, Marilyn D. Davidson and Judy D. (Charlie) Manning; a sister-in-law, Emily Davis Hall, several devoted nieces and nephews, including Darren Horne, who took on the role of caregiver with great dedication, Ken (Andrea) Davidson, Gwen Davis, Andy (Robin) Davis, Greg Davis, Mark (Charlene) Davis and Lori (Brad) Nowell. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Dexter Assembly of God with the family receiving friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
