David Earl Maddox, aged 58, a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and vibrant memories.
Born on November 21, 1966, in Dublin, GA. A devoted family man, David is survived by his cherished wife, Pam Maddox, with whom he shared countless moments of happiness and an unwavering partnership. He was a proud father to his sons, David Maddox Jr., Gage Maddox, Grant Maddox, and loving stepfather to Cameron Barnes (Kara), Dustin Maddox, and Adam Nowling. His role as a grandfather to Clayton and Canon Barnes was one he embraced with all his heart, showering them with affection and wisdom.
David was predeceased by his parents, James William Maddox Jr. and Elizabeth Lumley Pitts, but his family lineage continues through his siblings, Tonya Lynn Dunlap (Dewayne), Greg Allan Maddox, his stepsisters, Lisa Carrier and Tamatha McTier, and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lisa Miles (Shane), Patricia McGirt, Tammy Helms (Brian), William Alligood (Jodi), Chip Nowling, and his stepmother, Sue Maddox. The bond he shared with his cousins, Eric Reid, Michael Reid, and Greg Maddox, was equally profound and will undoubtedly live on in their cherished recollections.
David had a fulfilling career in construction, where his skillful hands and strategic mind left a mark on numerous projects with Unlimited Construction. His experience as a United States Navy veteran spoke volumes about his dedication to the country and the values he lived by. Beyond his professional life, David found joy and relaxation in his varied interests. Whether it was strumming melodies on his guitar, crafting beautiful pieces of furniture in his woodworking shop, or relishing the tranquility of fishing, he knew the importance of cherishing life's simpler pleasures. Time spent with family and friends was sacred to David, and he never missed an opportunity to create lasting memories, especially with his beloved grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Bethesda Baptist Church.
