Delacy Clark, age 79, of East Dublin, passed away on July 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness.
Mr. Clark was born in Laurens County on January 28, 1945, to the late Eugene and Donnie Brown Clark. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam. He retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center and was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan.
Delacy was devoted to his faith and found great joy in attending church and watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. He was a member of Soperton Church of God but currently attended Crossway Fellowship Church in Dublin. In addition to attending church, he enjoyed fishing and hunting until his health declined. He was a devoted husband for over 53 years, and a loving father, grandfather, and brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Roy Clark, Theo Clark, Hollis Clark, Elmer "Tom" Clark, Earl Clark, James “JL” Clark, Hilton “H.A.” Brown, and Frank Brown; and sisters, Valda Brown, and Ida Lee Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda Crooms Clark, of East Dublin; son, Eric Brian Clark, of East Dublin; daughters, Christie Clark Brown (Eli) and Lucinda “Cindy” Clark Sumner, both of East Dublin; granddaughter, Michaelyn Michelle Sumner, of East Dublin; grandson, Christopher James Brown, of East Dublin; great-grandson, Zace Octivus Durham, of East Dublin; brothers, Billy Clark, Henry Clark and Lewis “Ludy” Clark, of East Dublin; sister, Lennis Stevens (Kenny), of East Dublin; sister-in-law, Mary Clark, of East Dublin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at CrossWay Fellowship Church. Burial will follow at Walnut Creek Church Cemetery in Montrose. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the church.
