Delaine Durden Robinson, “Mama D”, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with Jesus, on June 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at home.
Mrs. Robinson loved spending time with her family, playing cards with her many friends, and walking at the mall. She was a lifetime member of Olivet Baptist Church and was active in her Sunday School class until she became ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L Robinson; parents, Henry Murphy Durden and Mamie Autry Durden; siblings, Travis Durden, H.M. Durden, S.B. Durden, Eloise Smith, Loyce Dawson, Pauline Webb, Nina Strayer, Joyce Blocker, and Lynn Freeman.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwen (Don) Melton; granddaughter, Missy (Tommy) Currie; grandson, Scott (Laura) Melton; great-granddaughters, Megan Currie, Kaley Melton, and Marly Melton, and several nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her friends and caregivers, who are an extension of the family, Janet Hartzler and Donna Yawn.
Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 10:00 am with services to begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. Daniel DeJong and Rev. Kyle Giddens will officiate.
Pallbearers Butch Freeman, Will Freeman, Clark Dailey, Tim Kennedy, Trinton Pharis, and Wade Kendrick.
