Delana Christine Kilgore

Delana Christine Kilgore, age 83, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023.

Mrs. Kilgore was born in Scott, Georgia on January 16, 1940 to the late Percy Smith and late Ruby Smith. She was member of Brewton Baptist Church, where she was involved in Sunday school and singing in the choir. She retired from Laurens County Board of Education after many years of serving in the cafeteria. She loved her family, enjoyed helping her husband around the family farm, and enjoyed fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Van Smith, step-mother, Clara Smith, and grandson, Christopher Soles.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Kilgore of East Dublin; children, Timmy Kilgore (Missy) of Adrian, Kristi Beasley (Paul) of Adrian, Pam Kilgore of East Dublin, Dale Carter (Warren) of Adrian, David Kilgore (Nancy) of Butler, and Lynn Stone (Randy) of East Dublin; grandchildren, Brett Ragan (Kassidie), Grayson Carter, Ashley Harrell (Heath), Hannah Vargas (Ryan), Brooklyn Shaw (Casey), Chelsey Robinson (Brandon), Spenser Stone (Amber), Tyler Stone (Summer), Heather Clements (Taylor), Mark Beasley (Charlie), Codi Corley (Dustin), Daniel Beasley (Raelin), Caitlyn Beasley (Dalton Green), Haley Kilgore (Brandon Evans), and Chandler Kilgore (Mattalyn); 28 great grandchildren; step-brother, James Grant (Norma); and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Brewton Baptist Church at 2pm. Rev. Ryan Vargas, Rev. Mike Kilgore, and Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Brett Ragan, Grayson Carter, Spenser Stone, Tyler Stone, Chandler Kilgore, Taylor Clements, and Heath Harrell will serve as pallbearers.
