Dilshad D. Blackinton passed away at home on the morning of May 21, 2020 after a year long battle with ovarian cancer. She will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at Christ Chapel Dublin, 604 Academy Ave., Dublin, GA, at a future date.
She was a medical Doctor and graduated from Stanley Medical College, class of 1981, in Madras India, before immigrating to Rhode Island for graduate studies at the University of RI. She married her husband David in September 1987.
Dilshad passed her Foreign Medical Boards and finished a four year residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation in 2002. After being the Director of an inpatient 20 bed hospital unit at Maine General in Waterville Maine, she was offered a staff position with the VA Hospital in Dublin GA. She was there for 5 years and retired earlier this month.
Dilshad was a fun and adventurous woman who loved to travel. She and her family went many times to Europe and India. She is survived by her husband David, her son Coburn, her sister Reshma and brother in law Amir, brother Azim and sister in law Janice, and her brother Amin.
