Donald Hugh Fountain

Donald Hugh Fountain, aged 75 of East Dublin, died on September 27, 2025. He was born August 03, 1950 in Dublin, Georgia. He grew up in a farming family, learning to work at a young age. An alumnus of East Laurens (1968) and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Donald began his professional career at Dixie Farm Equipment, then returned to farming. He later operated his own trucking company as an owner/operator. Donald, nicknamed Smooth by coworkers, then began his more than 40 years in the construction industry; working for Dublin Construction, Graham Brothers Construction, Specialized Services, Brad Cole Construction, CBP Environmental, and Phillips Inc. Donald was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Eulita Kay Fountain; mother, Dorothy J. Fountain; son, Marcus (Stefanie) Fountain of Seymour, TN; daughter, Sarah (Chris) Baggett of Dublin; step son, Rickey (Sandra) Rentz of East Dublin; grandchildren, Kiley (Dylan) Smith and Lauralee “Butterbean” Baggett; step grandchildren, Wayne (Caitlin) Rentz and Toya Rentz; great grandson, Beckett Smith; step great grandchildren, John Rentz, Waylon Rentz, and Willow Rentz; and sisters, Susan Frost, Kathy Henderson, Charlotte Griffin, and Nancy (Stuart) Harrell.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Charles Fountain, and brothers in law, Vic Frost and Leslie Henderson.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 3, 2025 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Adam Frost, Michael Henderson, Lee Holt, Ralph Griffin, Chris Baggett and Marcus Fountain will serve as pallbearers.
