Donna Sue NeSmith

Donna Sue NeSmith, 62, passed away on January 23, 2024.

Donna was born on December 8, 1961, in Eastman, Georgia; she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Bobby Junior Steinmann, her parents, Carlton Hudon “Don” NeSmith and Peggy Elizabeth Grubbs Spires, as well as her brother, Charles Eugene "Gene" NeSmith, and sister, Michelle Spires.

She was a loving mother and mema, known for her selfless and supportive nature. She was a fun-loving individual who was always present for her family and friends. Donna was a fighter, facing life's challenges with determination and resilience.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Jerry) Herndon and Cindy (Sean Courtenay) Steinmann, as well as her grandson, Caleb Myles Herndon. She is also survived by her siblings, Jeff (Donna K.) NeSmith, Jennifer (Mark) McCardle, Anne Brown, and Ginger (Wade) Johnson. Donna was cherished by several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved pet companion, Molly.

Donna dedicated 21 years of her life to a fulfilling career at Parker Aerospace before retiring. She found joy in spending time with her family and cherished taking her grandson to the movies.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Chauncey.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
