Dorothy Louise Crabb

Dorothy Louise Crabb passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024, in Dublin, Georgia, at the age of 89. Born on October 12, 1934, in Milledgeville, Georgia, Dorothy was a beacon of love and dedication throughout her life.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Clarence Ivey Woodall and Mary Louise Franks Woodall. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Halligan, and two grandchildren, Shannon Brooks and Jannie Halligan, her sister, Mary Clyde Pritchard, and her brothers, Clarence Ivey Woodall, Jr., George Hall Woodall, Sr., and Raymond C. Woodall.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Donna Yawn, and her husband, Glenn. She was the proud grandmother to three granddaughters, Tracie (Toby) Martin, Morgan (Michael) Hobbs, and Darlene (Wendell) Osborne, who will forever cherish their time with her. Her eleven great-grandchildren, Brittany Rowland, Justin Rowland, Kayson Martin, Devin Hobbs, Caleb Hobbs, Reid Hobbs, Nicole Osborne, T.J. Osborne, Maliq Ricks, Maurice Ricks, and Marco Kitchens, brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by two sisters, Lila Woodard and Lois Youngblood.

Dorothy retired from Forstmann after a fulfilling career as a weaver and cloth inspector. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her faith and family. She was a long-standing member of Olivet Baptist Church, where she lovingly worked in the nursery for many years. Her involvement with the church extended to her active participation in the Women's Missionary Union until her health began to decline.

Dorothy's interests reflected her nurturing spirit. She was a loving mother and grandmother, always finding time to keep her great-grandchildren whenever she had the opportunity. Her passion for gardening was evident to all who visited her home; the vibrant colors and fragrances of her flowers were a testament to her green thumb and her love for nature.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Olivet Baptist Church with burial to follow at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kyle Giddens and Rev. Max Rodgers will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.

Pallbearers will be Justin Rowland, Michael Hobbs, Lane Blanchett, Ralph Hall, Sid Harrison and Scott Pharis.
