A celebration of life for Dot Wood Williams will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, September 1, 2024, in the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Her grandson, Daniel Dixon, will officiate.
Dothl Ablin Butler was born August 13, 1934, in Nickelsville, Georgia in Wilkinson County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl S. Butler and Ethel Davidson Butler; brothers, Charles Oscar Butler and Maldolin E. Butler, and her first husband, Randolph Wood. Dot was a graduate of Toomsboro High School and began her career at Morris State Bank in downtown Dublin. Many knew her from her job as a teller at the drive-through window for many years. She was a member of Liberty Church.
Dot went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 29, 2024. She lived a full happy life and had just celebrated her 90th birthday. Her vivacious personality and her youthful appearance was admired by many. Some of her favorite things were making sure everyone was fed and happy and spending time with her family. Many knew her as Dothl, Dot, or Mrs. Dot, but her favorite name was “Dock” which the grandchildren and many others called her.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Wood (Lee) Dixon and Randy (Lori) Wood; grandchildren, Matt Dixon, Daniel (Jenni) Dixon, Christina (Eddie) Floyd, Preston (Haleigh) Wood, and Baily Wood; great grandchildren, Noah Dixon, Micah Dixon, Anna Dixon, Emma Dixon, Zaelee Floyd, Zyton Floyd, Zaxon Floyd, Zembree Floyd, Ryder Wood, and Salem Wood; and her husband, Luther Kim Williams.
The family will receive guests from 2 PM until the funeral hour at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. The pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Liberty Church, 900 Hillcrest Pkwy, Dublin, GA 31021, or to the charity of your choice.
