Earl Warnock Obituary

Rev. Earl Warnock went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, May 24, 2022.He was born into the family of Ervin and Clara Pope Warnock, May 21, 1930, in Laurens County Georgia. Earl graduated from Condor School in 1948. He met and married Lillie Frost in 1950 and the Lord blessed him with two girls, Mary and Evelyn.

Earl grew up on a farm and after graduation, he started public work and farming off and on.  On August 31, 1958, Earl was born into the family of the Lord Jesus Christ and April 2, 1959, the Lord called him into the Ministry of the Gospel.  He pastored three part time churches for the first five years of his Ministry, two in Glascock County, “Griffin Chapel” and “Euphratus” and Williams Chapel in Johnson County, with many making professions of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.   In October of 1964, the Lord led Earl to resign from these three churches and go to Swainsboro, GA and start a new church, with six people and named it the Southside Independent Baptist Church. For fifty years he pastored that church seeing over eleven hundred united with the church.  For seventeen years, Earl preached six days a week, fifteen minutes a day on the local radio with a one-hour Sunday night service.  The last five years of his ministry he was live on TV with our morning worship. The church supported ninety missionaries, a few in the US and in countries over seas around the world.  In October of 2014, Earl was honored with a Doctor of Divinity degree by the Trinity Baptist Seminary of Atlanta, GA with Dr. Glen Anderson president presenting the diploma.

Earl retired from pastoring, but not from preaching, helping many pastors with special meetings, as well as helping churches that were without pastors. Earl joined Calvary’s Grace Baptist Church in Ailey, GA to help pastor Brian Patrick and to serve God out of that Church. Earl believed the old King James Bible was the Word of God and he tried to live by it.
