Eddie W. Strickland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on May 27, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on October 6, 1949, in Dublin, GA, Eddie was a lifelong resident of the community he loved so dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.L. and Nellie Strickland, and his brother, Mike Strickland.
Eddie was a man whose life was characterized by steadfast love and dedication. In 1973, he married the love of his life, Brenda Woodard Strickland, and together they built a life filled with joy and purpose. Eddie was a proud father to his daughter, Leslie Strickland Odom (Chad) of Dublin, and his son, Tracy Strickland, also of Dublin. His role as a husband and father was one he cherished above all else, and his family was the cornerstone of his life. Eddie is also survived by his brother, Danny Strickland (Denise) of Dexter.
He was a dedicated lifetime member of Poplar Springs North Baptist Church and the Salt & Light Sunday School Class. Eddie was always willing to serve his church and church family in any capacity needed. His commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life, always striving to be a beacon of love and kindness to those around him.
Eddie's work ethic was unparalleled, as demonstrated by his 38 years of loyal service at Mohawk Carpet Mill before his well-deserved retirement. Beyond his family and work, Eddie had a passion for life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed camping and working on anything with a motor, a hobby that showcased his handy nature. His grand-dog, Zoey, held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the time spent with his furry companion.
Eddie's love for sports was evident in his active participation in softball, where he played for the PSNBC team well into his 40s. His athletic spirit and camaraderie on the field were an inspiration to many.
Always one to lend a helping hand, Eddie was known for his willingness to help others and expected nothing in return. His kindness extended to his love of cutting grass, a task he found joy in and offered freely to anyone in need.
