Edwin T. “Roho” Upshaw passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2024. He was born August 16, 1949, in rural Cadwell, Georgia to the late Dowell Roscco Upshaw and Mary Magaline Bond Upshaw.
He grew up in Laurens County and retired from Dublin Construction after 27 years of service. He was a simple man and served as a volunteer firefighter in Cadwell. Roho was a member of Cadwell Baptist Church. He also loved his brotherhood community at Rentz Baptist Church, Snowhill Baptist Church, and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Roho loved racing, from drag racing, to Go Kart, and round track, where he was well known. He loved his time in the earlier years on fishing trips with the clan. He was the community watch dog and spent his time with friends at Cadwell City Hall, Lindsey’s hardware/auto, the backyard fence, and under the oak tree.
Roho loved his children and grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as “HoHo”. One knew him as either “Roho” or “Ed”, his family name. Roho‘s legacy stood proud as a fighter because he fought until Jesus called him home.
He was preceded in death by: Dowell Roscco Upshaw (Father), Mary Magaline Bond Upshaw (mother), Grace Upshaw Murkerson (sister), Carolyn Upshaw Turner (sister), Emily Murkerson (niece), and Jeffery Turner (Nephew).
