Graveside services for Mrs. Emily W. Stinson were held September 3, 2021at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Dr. Darrell Paulk, pastor for First Baptist Church, Dublin, GA officiated.
Mrs. Stinson died August 31st after a brief illness. Life-time resident of Dublin, she was a member of First Baptist Church and served as secretary-treasurer for her Sunday school class numerous years.
After retiring from the Carl Vinson VAMC, Emily enjoyed traveling, visiting with her grandchildren and sister as well as working in her flower beds.
In addition to her parents Emmett L. and Alberta M. Werden, Mrs. Stinson was preceded in death by her husband J. Hunter Stinson, and a sister, Mrs. Ann W. Kenmore of Macon, GA.
She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Emily S. Holland (David Jr.) of Dublin, grandsons, David Q. Holland Ill (Stephanie) of Lake Sinclair, GA and Patrick H. Holland of Statesboro, GA, great-grandchildren, D. Quillian Holland IV of Milledgeville, GA, Madison A. Holland of Statesboro, GA, D. Chase Holland of Lake Sinclair, GA and Joshua Berta of E. Dublin, GA, a sister, Mrs. Mary W. Green of Montrose, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, Dublin, GA directed the funeral arrangements.
The family of Mrs. Stinson greatly appreciated the loving care given to her by the staff of The Addington Place of Dublin and the fourth-floor staff at Fairview Park Hospital.
